BARCELONA TURNS UP
But first, a word on venues. As venues are everything and this one was a total dream - a two storey affair in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, called Abaixadors10 - if you find yourself Barcelona we’d highly suggest stopping by. Two rooms, a cocktail bar and dance floor with a very exciting 'VIP dark room' .
We were lubricated during set up, and feeling very rested after our first night of losing phones, and having to sleep in a Church.
Banners were thrown up, magazines laid up and we stood around, awkwardly drinking beers wondering if anyone would show up. And by God, Barcelona you do turn up.
With our favourite Spanish DJ on the decks, Mario Azurza enticed the crowd, indeed whipping them into a frenzy. We screened Cata Diaz’s profile, part of Nike SB’s Not Here by Luck series, shot by our very own and Barcelona resident Guillem Cruells, which will be out next week. The amount of support from Cata’s friends during the screening was insane, whistles galore. We then dropped Adrian Del Campo’s new Nike profile which is a total banger. After that, Mario turned up the music and all hell broke loose.
Judging by the lost phone count, and lost credit card count, I’d say the later stage of the evening were quite exciting. Sitting writing this in the back of what’s now a thoroughly trashed rental van driving back to Biarritz is less exciting.
